Introducing Cassandra, the coat that will have everyone stopping to look. Triangles and squares of coral, duck green, magenta, and gold are assembled on a cream base like a quilt crafted over the course of a winter, and the interior is fully lined with soft brushed fleece, from collar to hem and down the sleeves, so that the warmth comes from the lining rather than the thickness of the fabric. The hood is lined with the same fleece and is roomy, featuring a drawstring for the coldest mornings. And yes, there are pockets. Two, set into the front at the hips, deep enough to hold a phone, keys, and a pair of gloves all at once. Lovingly offered by Vivian & Pearl Newport, a family boutique since 2006.
